PotentialCareers' Formation Timeline:
August 2017-Started my Associate Degree in Human Services/AODA Counseling
February 2018- Started my Associate Degree in Human Resources
January 2019- Started Full-Time Employment with REM Wisconsin (The Mentor Network): Direct Support Professional, while still completing College Full-Time: Providing In-Home Supports, assisting people with living independently and coaching them with daily living skills.
May 2020- Graduated with Associate Degree in Human Resources
After graduation, I knew l wanted to help people get employment and have a Job/Career they enjoyed. After further thought and looking for my own Employment, I knew Human Resource was not going to be the Career I enjoyed. I continued my Full-Time Employment with REM Wisconsin.
March 2021-Started Full-Time Employment with New View Industries-Line Therapist/Direct Support Professional: Providing Supervision and Monitoring individual's Day Services Goals, Progress, Case Plans, while assisting with Personal Cares, to ensure adequate hygiene, and assisted with redirecting agitation and/or aggressive behaviors.
January 2022-Re-started/Continued Associate Degree in Human Services.
June 2022-January 2025- Met with Mallory (Owner/President of VaryAbility), whom I had E-mailed asking to complete an Internship for my Associate Degree in Human Services. We started with a Job Shadow, to determine if the Job was what I was looking for. Interned with VaryAbility, then was offered a job as a Job Coach. May of 2023, VaryAbility offered me employment as an Employment Consultant/Job Coach.
April-December 2024- Applied with DVR, to become an Independent Service Provider. After receiving approval, I planned to continue working with VaryAbility to fade out my current Case Load of 22 cases. Unfortunately, I was unable to slowly fade out my case load, due to DVR policies and procedures.
January 2025- PotentialCareers was fully authorized and ready to start supporting and coaching job seekers with Preparing, Securing, and Retaining meaningful employment. I love teaching people how to do things and coaching them to improve their independence, to the best of their ability.
